Impatiens capensis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Balsaminaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan subarktik Amerika, Amerika Serikat bagian utara, tengah, hingga dan timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan jewelweed. Nama ilmiah Impatiens capensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nicolaas Meerburgh pada tahun 1775.
