Inula thapsoides subsp. australis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye hingga Iran. Nama ilmiah Inula thapsoides subsp. australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Andrew John Charles Grierson pada tahun 1975.
