Ipomoea aurifolia merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea aurifolia diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Lebrecht Udo Dammer pada tahun 1897.
