Ipomoea campanulata merupakan tumbuhan berkayu dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki pola hidup memanjat dengan akar tetap di tanah (liana). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea campanulata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
