Ipomoea chodatiana merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Paraguay timur. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea chodatiana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carlos Alberto O'Donell pada tahun 1950.
