Ipomoea ciervensis merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko timur laut. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea ciervensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Homer Doliver House pada tahun 1907.
