Ipomoea coccinea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea coccinea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
