Ipomoea coccinea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea coccinea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
