Ipomoea dumetorum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan railwaycreeper. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea dumetorum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1819.
