Ipomoea homotrichoidea merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menjalar. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Paraguay hingga Brazil (Paraná). Nama ilmiah Ipomoea homotrichoidea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carlos Alberto O'Donell pada tahun 1948.
