Ipomoea squamosa merupakan tumbuhan . Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Nama ilmiah Ipomoea squamosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jacques Denys Choisy pada tahun 1845.
