Isatis armena merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Isatis armena diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
