Iva microcephala merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan piedmont marsh elder. Nama ilmiah Iva microcephala pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1840.
