Jacobaea aquatica merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran) yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa hingga Lebanon barat. Nama ilmiah Jacobaea aquatica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Hill pada tahun 1801.
