Juncus stygius subsp. americanus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Juncaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh, Korea, Alaska, hingga Amerika Serikat bagian utara-tengah dan timur laut. Nama ilmiah Juncus stygius subsp. americanus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Franz Georg Philipp Buchenau pada tahun 1943.
