Justicia amherstia merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Indo-China. Nama ilmiah Justicia amherstia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Sigamony Stephen Richard Bennet pada tahun 1978.
