Justicia asclepiadea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia hingga Brazil. Nama ilmiah Justicia asclepiadea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1997.
