Justicia aurea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Justicia aurea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1832.
