Kniphofia stricta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asphodelaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Provinsi Cape bagian timur laut hingga Lesotho barat daya. Nama ilmiah Kniphofia stricta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Leslie Edward Wostall Codd pada tahun 1960.
