Kotschya strobilantha merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Gabon hingga Botswana. Nama ilmiah Kotschya strobilantha pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Welwitsch pada tahun 1954.
