Laennecia sophiifolia adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona, Texas, Meksiko, barat, hingga Amerika Selatan bagian selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan leafy horseweed. Nama ilmiah Laennecia sophiifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1990.
