Bungur kecil adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Lythraceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Lagerstroemia indica ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya tengah hingga China selatan dan Indo-China. Bungur kecil juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu ketangi. Nama ilmiah Lagerstroemia indica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1759.
