Lagerstroemia paniculata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lythraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Filipina (Luzon). Nama ilmiah Lagerstroemia paniculata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nicolai Stepanovitch Turczaninow pada tahun 1885.
