Lasiacis oaxacensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko selatan, Venezuela, Peru, hingga Greater Antilles. Nama ilmiah Lasiacis oaxacensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1911.
