Lasiacis rugelii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Amerika tengah, hingga Greater Antilles. Nama ilmiah Lasiacis rugelii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1911.
