Lasiacis sloanei merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sloane's tribisee. Nama ilmiah Lasiacis sloanei diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1911.
