Lathyrus hookeri merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil selatan hingga Amerika Selatan bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus hookeri pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Don pada tahun 1832.
