Lathyrus leptophyllus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Transkaukasia. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus leptophyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich August Marschall von Bieberstein pada tahun 1808.
