Lathyrus magellanicus var. gladiatus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia hingga Argentina barat. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus magellanicus var. gladiatus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Jackson Hooker pada tahun 1898.
