Lathyrus torreyi merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Washington hingga California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan torrey's pea. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus torreyi diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Asa Gray pada tahun 1868.
