Lathyrus variabilis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye bagian tenggara hingga Lebanon. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus variabilis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1888.
