Lathyrus vinealis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Asia barat. Nama ilmiah Lathyrus vinealis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1856.
