Lecythis ampla merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lecythidaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nikaragua hingga Ekuador. Nama ilmiah Lecythis ampla diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Miers pada tahun 1874.
