Lecythis pisonis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lecythidaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia (Caquetá) hingga Brazil dan Peru. Nama ilmiah Lecythis pisonis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jacques Cambessèdes pada tahun 1833.
