Leiothrix flagellaris merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Eriocaulaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil tenggara. Nama ilmiah Leiothrix flagellaris pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Antoine Guillemin pada tahun 1903.
