Leiothrix fluitans merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Eriocaulaceae yang dapat tumbuh di media yang tergenang air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Minas Gerais). Nama ilmiah Leiothrix fluitans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1903.
