Leontodon rigens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Azores (São Miguel). Nama ilmiah Leontodon rigens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Aiton pada tahun 1973.
