Lepidagathis cristata merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India. Nama ilmiah Lepidagathis cristata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1800.
