Leptochilus pteropus merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Polypodiaceae yang dapat tumbuh di media tergenang air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis. Nama ilmiah Leptochilus pteropus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Ludwig Blume pada tahun 2008.
