Lessertia rigida merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Lessertia rigida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1825.
