Leucas cephalotes merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afghanistan timur hingga Myanmar. Nama ilmiah Leucas cephalotes diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Albrecht Wilhelm Roth pada tahun 1825.
