Limnocharis laforestii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Alismataceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko selatan hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Nama ilmiah Limnocharis laforestii diperkenalkan oleh Édouard Placide Duchassaing de Fontbressin pada tahun 1858.
