Lindera bootanica merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Himalaya tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Lindera bootanica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Daniel Friedrich Meissner pada tahun 1864.
