Lipotriche scandens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Lipotriche scandens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Christian Friedrich Schumacher pada tahun 2013.
