Litothamnus ellipticus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Brazil (Bahia). Nama ilmiah Litothamnus ellipticus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Merrill King pada tahun 1979.
