Litsea sphaerocarpa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Malaya hingga Jawa. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama huru hiris atau huru lencir (Sunda). Nama ilmiah Litsea sphaerocarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig Blume pada tahun 1826.
