Lobelia urens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Campanulaceae yang dapat tumbuh di media yang tergenang air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Lobelia urens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
