Lonchocarpus rugosus subsp. apricus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tengah hingga Honduras. Nama ilmiah Lonchocarpus rugosus subsp. apricus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Cyrus Longworth Lundell pada tahun 1987.
