Lophostoma ovatum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Thymelaeaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Lophostoma ovatum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Daniel Friedrich Meissner pada tahun 1857.
