Loudetia phragmitoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika. Nama ilmiah Loudetia phragmitoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama (Gustav) Albert Peter pada tahun 1934.
