Lupinus affinis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oregon hingga California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan fleshy lupine. Nama ilmiah Lupinus affinis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jacob Georg Agardh pada tahun 1835.
